Indigenous Initiatives

Gindalbie recognises that special factors are involved when its operations affect Aboriginal communities.  In all cases, Gindalbie will respect the traditions, customs, culture and dignity of Aboriginal communities. We will consult with Aboriginal communities on field operations which could affect their cultural, social and economic well-being and ability to enjoy a traditional way of life.

There are several sites of Aboriginal significance that could potentially be impacted by the Project development.  Gindalbie has designed and will implement a Cultural Heritage Management Plan to ensure the necessary management actions are implemented. Gindalbie’s Management Plan:

  • complies with the requirements of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, and
  • ensures that the changes to the biophysical environment do not affect historical and cultural associations, and comply with relevant heritage legislation.
